W. Roy Buddy Sims

SAVANNAH - W. Roy Buddy Sims, 73, passed away on Thursday, September 13, at Hospice Savannah with family and friends by his side.
Roy graduated from Savannah High School and attended Armstrong where he played basketball. He was a competitive tennis player in the Savannah area.
Roy began his career with Herman Kleinstuber at Cut Art Stone, then established Greenbriar Stone Company & in later years worked on joint projects with Clarkes Block Company.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elder and Mrs. Altomease Roy Sims. He is survived by daughters Virginia Sims Ken Ford and Betsy Arata, and son Will Sims Jaime; and sisters, Martha Buttimer and Mary Larson Dick and brother, Danny Sims Mayette; three granddaughters, Lydia Lulkin, Anna and Carly Boykin; and special friend Jan Martin, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday at Fox and Weeks, Hodgson Chapel at 1pm with service to follow at 2pm with Jerry Claxton, Roy's cousin officiating.

I am very sorry for your loss. I always could count on Roy to be there when Hugh III and I needed a kind word or shoulder to lean on. I can remember when all three of you children were born. He was indeed a proud father. The Lord be with you during these difficult times.
